HK chief to attend APEC meeting in Vietnam
HONG KONG, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- Chief Executive of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Donald Tsang will attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC)'s 14th Economic Leaders' Meeting on Nov. 18 and Nov. 19, a government spokesman said here Tuesday.


Tsang will fly to Hanoi, capital of Vietnam, on Nov. 16 for the APEC meeting, the spokesman said.


With the theme Towards a dynamic community for sustainable development and prosperity, economic leaders will have in-depth deliberations on a range of economic issues at the meeting, including APEC's role in pushing for the resumption of the World Trade Organization Doha Development Agenda negotiations and the implementation of the Busan Roadmap to achieve the Bogor Goals.


They will also discuss fundamental issues that are of great importance to growth and sustainable development in member economies, such as the development of human resources, and information and communications technology, measures to strengthen cooperation in health security, disaster preparedness, counter-terrorism, and anti-corruption.


Tsang will attend the APEC CEO Summit on Nov. 17 and join the leaders' dialogue with the APEC Business Advisory Council on Nov. 18.
