| China, US and N. Korea nuke envoys meet |
SHANGHAI, Nov 28 -- NEGOTIATORS for China, the United States and North Korea met today to discuss details of restarting six-nation talks on dismantling the reclusive communist nation's nuclear weapons program, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said.
China's Vice Foreign Minister Wu Dawei, US Assistant Secretary of State Christopher Hill and North Korean Vice Foreign Minister Kim Kye Gwan met after Kim arrived, ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu said. She did not give any details.
China hopes that "relevant parties can have an in-depth exchange of ideas to promote the early resumption of talks," Jiang said at a regular briefing.
On Kim's last known visit to the Chinese capital last month, he held an unannounced meeting with Hill that led to the North agreeing to return to the disarmament talks, the Associated Press said.
The talks have been stalled for more than a year because of North Korean anger over financial sanctions imposed by the United States. Restarting them took on new urgency after the North conducted its first nuclear test on October 9.
