ASEAN, China urge resumption of talks on North Korean nuclear crisis
NANNING, Oct 30 (AP) -- Southeast Asian leaders on Monday backed China's call for a resumption of talks aimed at resolving the dispute over North Korea's nuclear program.

"We were impressed by the unanimity of every leader on the issue of North Korea and their resolve to work together to seek a diplomatic solution through the resumption of the six-party talks," said Philippine President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, who was chairing a one-day summit of China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations in the southern Chinese city of Nanning.

Arroyo praised host China for its role in sponsoring the six-nation talks, which include both Koreas, Japan, Russia and the United States as well as Beijing.
