Australia's crude oil production up 8% in year to March
CANBERRA, June 13 (Xinhua) -- Australia's crude oil production of the first quarter this year reached 129.8 million barrels, representing an eight-percent increase over the previous year, according to new figures released Wednesday.

More than 31 million barrels of crude oil were pumped from Australian oilfields, according to the Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association.

Other petroleum commodities also showed increases in production, notably a 25.2 percent jump in liquefied natural gas in the 12 months to March, according to the figures.

Australian Associated Press quoted the figures as saying liquefied petroleum gas also increased by 1.4 percent in the year to March, while domestic gas sales rose 8.6 percent.

But production of condensate fell marginally.
