| Honda recalls over 16,000 vehicles across 3 models in Indonesia |
JAKARTA, March 27 (Xinhua) -- Japanese car-maker Honda on Tuesday began to recall 16,108 cars manufactured in 2005-06 to deal with potential engine problems in Indonesia, becoming the first company to do so in the country.
Local subsidiary PT Honda Prospect Motor (HPM) said the recall affected 15,435 Honda Jazz hatchbacks manufactured in March 2005-September 2006, 523 Honda Odyssey minivans (February 2005-September 2006) and 150 Honda Accord sedans (September 2005-August2006).
"The recall policy was issued after a finding (of manufacturing defect) in Japan, and then the headquarters decided to recall the three models in countries like Japan, China, Australia, the United States and Indonesia," HPM marketing manager Jonfis Fandy was quoted by leading news website Detikcom as saying.
"This is the first vehicle recall in Indonesia," the manager said, adding that the customers of the affected vehicles are invited to visit nearest dealerships for free repair
