| S Korean builders win more overseas construction orders this year |
SEOUL, Aug. 30 (Xinhua) -- South Korean builders have won more than 20 billion U.S. dollars worth of overseas construction orders during the first eight months of this year, according to a government report on Thursday.
The nation's overseas orders amounted to 21 billion dollars so far this year, exceeding an annual high of 16.4 billion dollars recorded last year, the report by the Ministry of Construction and Transportation said.
The report forecast that the figure would grow to 24 billion dollars by the end of this year as more orders are expected.
By country, the United Arab Emirates was the largest market for South Korean construction companies, awarding 4.95 billion dollars worth of orders. Saudi Arabia came in second with 2.74 billion dollars while Egypt and Kuwait followed with 1.84 billion dollars and 1.67 billion dollars, respectively.
