| Japan donates $18 mln for Indonesian rural development |
JAKARTA, July 7 (Xinhua) -- The Japanese government has agreed to hand 18.64 million U.S. dollars in grant to fund several rural projects in Indonesia, the Japanese Embassy said in a statement Saturday.
Under the agreement signed Friday, Japan will finance water supply projects worth 5.13 million dollars in Gunung Kidul regency in southern Java and 1.98 million dollars in impoverish provinces of East and West Nusa Tenggara, allocate 2.88 million dollars for radio broadcast in remote areas and 8.65 million for coastal fishery project.
As one of Indonesia's largest donors, Japan will continue supporting developments in Indonesia, the statement said.
